Salary to Hourly Calculator
Convert a salary to an hourly wage, or an hourly wage to an annual salary. See hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly and yearly pay from one number.
Formula
Weekly pay = yearly pay ÷ paid weeks per year. Hourly pay = weekly pay ÷ hours per week. Daily = weekly ÷ days per week. Biweekly = weekly × 2. Monthly = yearly ÷ 12. Going the other way, hourly × hours per week × paid weeks gives the yearly salary.
Example: a $52,000 salary with 40 hours a week and 52 paid weeks is $1,000 a week, which is $25.00 an hour. $60,000 a year is $28.85 an hour (60,000 ÷ 2,080 hours).
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert an annual salary to an hourly wage?
Divide the salary by the hours you work in a year. A full-time job of 40 hours for 52 weeks is 2,080 hours, so $60,000 ÷ 2,080 is about $28.85 an hour.
How do I convert an hourly wage to an annual salary?
Choose Hour above, enter the rate and see the yearly figure. It is the rate × hours per week × paid weeks per year. $25 × 40 × 52 = $52,000.
Should I count paid time off?
If your vacation and holidays are paid, keep 52 paid weeks. If you are unpaid for some weeks, lower the paid weeks, for example to 50, to see what you earn for the time you actually work.
Is this before or after taxes?
The calculator converts the amount you enter and does not apply taxes. Enter a gross amount to get gross hourly pay, or an after-tax amount to get take-home hourly pay.
Why is monthly pay not four times the weekly pay?
A year has about 4.33 weeks per month, not 4. Monthly pay here is the yearly amount divided by 12.
