Days Between Dates Calculator

Find the number of days, weeks, months and years between two dates, with an option to include the end date.

Formula

Days = end date − start date (plus 1 if the end date is included). Years, months and days are counted in whole calendar months, with the leftover days after the last full month.

Example: January 1 to March 1, 2026 is 59 days, or exactly 2 months. If you include the end date it becomes 60 days.

Frequently asked questions

Does it matter which date comes first?

No. If the end date is earlier, the calculator swaps them and shows the same difference.

Does the result account for leap years?

Yes. February 28 to March 1 is 2 days in 2020, a leap year, and 1 day in 2021.

How do I count only working days?

Use the business days calculator, which skips weekends and US federal holidays.
